No Brisbane 2032 live site has been named yet. The state has promised free live sites across Queensland, but not where.

The Queensland Government's 2032 Delivery Plan, released in March 2025, says live sites will let communities "gather and watch the Games, throughout the State". It says they'll be free and you won't need an event ticket. That's as far as the official detail goes. No location, operator or opening hours have been published by the state, GIICA or the Brisbane 2032 Organising Committee as at 3 November 2026.

The short version
  • The state has committed to free live sites "throughout the State". None has been located.
  • The plan says parklands and beaches will be used as temporary venues or live sites.
  • For Paris 2024, Queensland ran free big-screen LIVE sites in eight places, including Brisbane and Cairns, for the Olympics and Paralympics.

Have any Brisbane 2032 live sites been announced?

No. The Delivery Plan describes what live sites are for, but it doesn't list any. GIICA's venue list covers competition venues and villages only. The organising committee's FAQ on olympics.com doesn't mention live sites at all. If you read a specific 2032 live site location somewhere, check where it came from.

What has the Queensland Government actually promised?

Three things, all from the March 2025 Delivery Plan. Live sites will be spread across the state, not just Brisbane. They'll be free to attend. And people will be able to "watch events live, participate in activities and share the spirit of the Games together" without a ticket. The Premier's statement the same day added that parklands and beaches will be used as temporary venues or live sites.

The plan doesn't say who will run them, how many there will be, or how big they'll be.

Will live sites run during the Paralympics?

Not announced. The plan says "the Games" without splitting Olympics and Paralympics. The Paralympics run from 24 August to 5 September 2032. In 2024, Queensland's LIVE sites showed both: Olympic broadcasts from 27 July to 12 August and Paralympic broadcasts from 29 August to 9 September (AEST).

Where did Queensland put its screens for Paris 2024?

In eight places. A state media statement from 13 July 2024 listed LIVE sites in Cairns, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, Longreach, Rockhampton, Mackay and Townsville, with Nine Network big-screen coverage. Cairns used the Shields Street Lawns. Andrew Liveris, president of the Brisbane 2032 Organising Committee, called them "just a taste of what's in store in the years ahead".

That's a precedent, not a plan. Nobody has said 2032 will use the same towns or spots.

What about South Bank and Victoria Park?

Neither has been named as a 2032 live site. South Bank's Cultural Forecourt hosted a free live site for the Socceroos' three World Cup games in June 2026, backed by the state, Brisbane City Council and South Bank Corporation. GIICA's August 2026 piece on Victoria Park talks about the new stadium hosting the Opening Ceremony and the park being used for "sport, entertainment and community events". It doesn't mention a live site.

Which beaches and parklands are mentioned?

The Delivery Plan names two coastal spots, but for temporary competition venues, not live sites: the Broadwater Parklands at Southport on the Gold Coast, and Alexandra Headland on the Sunshine Coast. The state has named the Broadwater Parklands as a chance to host triathlon and marathon swimming. Whether either also gets a public screen hasn't been said.
