Most Brisbane 2032 sports have a proposed venue. None is final until the IOC locks the programme in April 2027.
The table below matches each sport to the venue named for it by GIICA (the state's venue authority), the Queensland Government or the City of Gold Coast. "Proposed" is their word. On 31 October 2026 the IOC said the Brisbane 2032 sports programme will be confirmed at its 147th Session in Punta Cana in April 2027. Its Executive Board plans to confirm most existing disciplines in December 2026.

What's on the Gold Coast?
Hockey, triathlon, marathon swimming and basketball, according to the Premier's statement of 26 March 2025. Hockey goes to an upgraded Gold Coast Hockey Centre. The Broadwater Parklands at Southport is described as an "opportunity" for triathlon and marathon swimming. No basketball venue has been named.
The City of Gold Coast lists nine proposed competition venues: six existing (the Sport and Leisure Centre and Carrara Stadium at Carrara, Cbus Super Stadium at Robina, Coomera Indoor Sports Centre, the Convention and Exhibition Centre at Broadbeach, and the Hockey Centre), two temporary (Broadbeach Park Stadium and the Broadwater Parklands) and a new Gold Coast Arena at Southport. Apart from hockey and the Broadwater, none has a sport attached publicly. The council says the sports programme comes in 2027.
Where will surfing, skateboarding and climbing be?
Not decided. We found no venue for surfing, skateboarding, sport climbing, BMX freestyle or breaking in GIICA's list, the Delivery Plan, the state's statements or the City of Gold Coast's list. Whether they're in the 2032 programme at all is part of the IOC process. In August 2026 the IOC said sports added by Tokyo, Paris or LA28 organisers can be put forward, and Brisbane 2032 can propose extra disciplines too.
Is cricket in?
Not yet. The state has said the Gabba will be used for cricket in 2032 and that matches are slated for the Mackay-Whitsunday region. Cricket was added for LA28 by its organisers, so under the IOC's August 2026 rules it can be considered for Brisbane. Whether it makes the final programme is decided in April 2027.
Where are the Paralympic sports?
Brisbane hosts the Paralympics, with the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Rockhampton, Maryborough and Logan as co-hosts, per Brisbane 2032's FAQ. The Para sports in the table are the ones GIICA has matched to a venue so far.
